Bulk Wine Buying

Consider this an insider tip. Many smaller wine shops will buy multiple cases of wine assuming they will move quickly. But, alas, some just do not. Regardless, they still must go and no proprietor wants to eat the cost of a product that is nearing it’s prime and unfortunately, wine does in fact have a shelf life.
If you approached a store owner/employee and let them know you are needing to purchase wine in bulk, I would bet they would be willing to negotiate a larger discount. Now let me be clear-you will most likely not get to choose what it is. It will be 100% up to the store owner as to what THEY want/need to move. Be open and flexible to their recommendations and never expect a large discount just because you are buying in bulk. Regardless, you can still consider this a win-win. This strategy is especially helpful with non-profits or fundraising when saving money is of key importance. Remember, as long as you are courteous, it never hurts to ask!
