Think you can’t afford liquor for your party?

A VERY common misconception when designing and purchasing alcohol for your bar. However, you do have to keep a few things in mind: mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and sometimes an extra bartender. But, if you keep the spirits mainstream and the mixers simple, adding this component can sometimes even save you a little money.
True story: a client a couple years ago had gone so far over budget, he was faced with dropping the alcohol from the party altogether. (Terrible idea- it was a fundraiser) Instead of completely eliminating it, we settled on two signature cocktails. One with a value vodka and one with a value bourbon. The drinks were not “bar strong” as we had to stretch the liquor a bit, but they were good nevertheless. He was able to serve 120 people cocktails for the majority of the evening and no one had any idea they were created on fumes. Water into wine? Not quite, but I do have tricks up my sleeves and while I am definitely no magician, I like to dabble in smoke and mirrors! ✨No one has to know our behind the scenes secrets!
